Tune in Sunday night to KNUS AM 710 from 5 to 8 pm for Backbone Radio. Matt Dunn and Krista Kafer will hit the airwaves with fresh commentary on all things political and cultural.
The tragedy of the Aurora murders weighs heavily on our hearts. In addition to updating listeners on the most recent news about the tragedy, we’re going to discuss how Americans should confront evil. Most Americans, including President Obama and Governor Romney, have responded with compassion for the victims. Others, like ABC News’ Brian Ross and George Stephanopoulos, have used the tragedy for their own political agenda. Guess they didn’t want to let a serious crisis go to waste.
We will also have two terrific guests— Laura Carno, the founder of iamcreatedequal.com. Tired of the condescending War on Women rhetoric, Laura has launched an effort to educate and empower women. This counter narrative affirms the equality of women and men and women’s ability to run their own lives without the so-called help of Washington politicians.
We will also talk with Clint Bolick co-founder of the Institute for Justice, research fellow with the Hoover Institution, and Vice President for Litigation for the Goldwater Institute. Bolick is the author of the recently published book Two-Fer: Electing a President and a Supreme Court. The book shows how many of our most basic freedoms are in the hands of Supreme Court judges appointed by the president. A president’s philosophy regarding free speech, free exercise of religion, ownership of private property, and other essential rights endures far beyond his four to eight years in office because of the life tenure of his Supreme Court nominees.
